US sanctions three people for aiding North Korea’s illicit finance, cybercrime

Washington announces designations in coordination with Seoul in effort to cut off funding for DPRK’s nuclear weapons

The U.S. has sanctioned three individuals for providing support to North Korea’s efforts to generate money to fund its nuclear and missile development through illicit financing and cybercrime.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced the move in coordination with South Korea after a court in Washington indicted the three designated individuals, the Treasury Department said in a press release Monday.
