The original buildings used by the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission to ensure compliance with the Korean armistice agreement after the war were demolished this week as part of a major renovation project in the area, according to United Nations Command (UNC).

Photos from the Joint Security Area seen by NK News show multiple forklift diggers tearing down the decades-old structures alongside workers wearing yellow vests, with little left of the original buildings at the time the scenes were captured.
