South Korean forces head to Guam to join US’ Operation Christmas Drop

North Korea has used US-ROK military activities to justify flurry of ballistic missile tests over past months

South Korean air force servicemembers departed for Guam to participate in Operation Christmas Drop (OCD), a U.S.-led humanitarian program aimed at Micronesia, Seoul said on Tuesday.

U.S. Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) plays a leading role in the airlift operation, which it says dates back to 1952 and is the Pentagon’s longest-running humanitarian and disaster relief training mission.
