Seoul to cremate woman’s body likely from North Korea: Unification ministry

North Korea ignores offers to repatriate remains of woman found with Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il badge near border

South Korea will cremate the body of a likely North Korean woman found near the inter-Korean border in July this year after Pyongyang ignored repeated offers to repatriate the remains, the unification ministry announced on Friday.

The woman was found dead near the Imjin River on July 23 wearing a badge featuring former North Korean leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, a major indication she was from the DPRK.
