North Korean secret police hold five-day meeting on internal security challenges

In brief report, state media says security organs tackled ongoing problem of ‘anti-socialist’ acts across country

North Korea’s secret police met to discuss ongoing problems controlling “anti-socialist” acts and other internal security challenges at a five-day conference this week, according to state media on Friday.

The country’s leader Kim Jong Un reportedly sent a letter of instructions to the Fifth Conference of Security Officials held from Nov. 19 to 23, but the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) did not publish the letter’s details or mention his presence at the event.
