South Korea’s armed forces are set to hold large-scale field exercises over the next two weeks on responding to diverse North Korean threat scenarios, as the two Koreas accuse each other of conducting “provocations” and escalating tensions on the peninsula.
Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) will lead the Hoguk Exercises involving the army, navy and air force from Oct. 17 to 28 with U.S. forces joining segments of the combined operations training, JCS said in a statement sent to reporters on Friday.
