Drummer at 2018 inter-Korean summit dinner resembles unknown female aide, NK News analysis of state media suggests

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s mysterious new aide who has followed him around in recent months may be a former member of the prestigious Moranbong Band, according to NK News analysis of state media imagery.

South Korean outlet SBS reported on Wednesday that the woman, whom NK News first identified as close to the DPRK leader earlier this year, may be Hong Yun Mi (홍윤미) and that she was part of a group that played for Kim and former ROK President Moon Jae-in during their first summit dinner in April 2018.
