North Korea fires two cruise missiles toward Yellow Sea: Seoul

First-known DPRK missile test in months comes as Yoon Suk-yeol marks 100 days in office and ahead of joint US-ROK drills

North Korea fired two cruise missiles into waters off its west coast on Wednesday morning, South Korea’s presidential office said later that day.

The launch is the first-known DPRK missile test since it fired eight short-range ballistic missiles on June 5 and comes as the U.S. and South Korea are set to hold large-scale military exercises from next week. It also overlaps with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol’s 100th day in office, which he marked with a press conference in the morning.
