Advocate group demands justice for DPRK defectors allegedly defrauded in scam

North Korean refugees unfamiliar with South Korean society are especially susceptible to pyramid schemes, expert says

A group that advocates for North Korean defectors has demanded prosecutors take action against a company that allegedly scammed over 300 defectors in a pyramid scheme.

Representatives for victims of the scam made their plea at a press conference at South Korea’s National Assembly on Thursday, where they expressed frustration with the lack of a legal response against the perpetrators.
