US and South Korea fire two missiles in response to North Korean ICBM: JCS

Seoul says it also conducted fighter jet exercise after DPRK tested ‘likely’ long-range missile

The U.S. and South Korea jointly fired two missiles into the East Sea on Wednesday in response to North Korea’s test of a suspected intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and two other missiles earlier in the morning, according to Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

The South Korean military also conducted an Air Force drill known as an elephant walk, JCS said, as the Yoon Suk-yeol administration “strongly condemned” North Korea’s missile launches and warned that North Korea's “continued provocations” will “inevitably result in stronger and faster deterrence of the South Korea-U.S. alliance.”
