The Biden administration has earmarked up to $3 million in funding for human rights projects that can have “an immediate impact leading to long-term, sustainable reforms” in North Korea.

The U.S. Department of State announced the funding opportunity on Wednesday, inviting human rights groups to apply for project backing in one of four areas: fostering accountability for serious human rights abuses repression, advancing the rights of women and girls, promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, and strengthening labor rights.
