North Korea’s missile tests show peace process’ limits: Foreign minister nominee

Park Jin criticizes Moon administration’s DPRK policy, days after Pyongyang launches ‘tactical-guided’ weapon

North Korea has not responded “properly” to the Moon Jae-in administration’s diplomatic efforts, the nominee to be South Korea’s next foreign minister said Monday, criticizing the incumbent president’s approach and Pyongyang’s missile tests that “run counter” to peace and stability.

The remarks by Park Jin, who also led president-elect Yoon Suk-yeol’s delegation to the U.S. earlier this month, come on the heels of North Korea’s latest test of a new “tactical-guided” weapon system that some experts believe could specifically seek to target South Korea.
