Top South Korean and U.S. military officials met in Hawaii on Thursday to push forward efforts to update decade-old joint war plans in response to threats from North Korea, according to Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
In the meeting, JCS head Gen. Won In Choul and his U.S. counterpart Gen. Mark Milley signed a strategy document outlining follow-up steps for their Dec. 2021 agreement to overhaul wartime operation plans (OPLANs), the JCS said in a press release.
