DPRK coast guard, fishing vessels crossed the inter-Korean maritime border near South Korea’s Baengnyeong

A North Korean patrol boat intruded across the inter-Korean maritime border in pursuit of a North Korean fishing boat on Tuesday morning and retreated after warning shots were fired from a ROK Navy vessel,  South Korea’s Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) confirmed to NK News.

The South Korean military towed the fishing boat and is investigating the incident after it crossed the Northern Limit Line (NLL) about six miles (10 km) east of Baengnyeong Island around 9:30 a.m KST, according to an official from the military.
