North Korea warns vaccines aren’t a silver bullet, again says it’s COVID-free

State media cite 'worsening pandemic situation' due to mutations as lesson against easing quarantine measures

North Korea has found no cases of COVID-19 after testing an additional 669 people, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), as the country’s state media warns that more contagious mutations are undermining the effectiveness of vaccines.

According to the WHO’s weekly situation report, DPRK authorities screened 98 people with flu-like illness or severe acute respiratory infections and 571 health care workers from Oct. 22-28.
