News Far out: Seoul joins space race with test-launch of homegrown rocketLaunch vehicle reached 700 km but failed to put satellite into orbit, amid flurry of recent missile tests by two Koreas South Korea test-launched its first domestically produced space launch vehicle on Thursday, paving the way for further development of the country’s space industry but falling short of putting a satellite into orbit. The 200-ton liquid-fueled Nuri rocket launched from the Naro Space Center on the southern coast at 5 p.m. KST.
