A new U.N. report details the struggle that non-governmental organizations faced last year while trying to deliver humanitarian aid into North Korea, a country that has banned nearly all international travel for more than a year now in order to combat COVID-19.
According to the report, 11 unnamed NGOs responded to a survey conducted by the U.N. Panel of Experts — a group that monitors the impact of sanctions against North Korea — and many said they faced troubles delivering aid as well as monitoring what happens to it once it gets inside the DPRK.
