South Korea defends military exercises after Kim Yo Jong threatens retaliation

Kim Jong Un’s sister slammed military drills, but Seoul’s defense ministry said that they’re “defensive in nature”

South Korea urged North Korea to have a more “flexible attitude” just hours after Kim Jong Un’s sister slammed Seoul and Washington for their joint military exercises on Tuesday.

Boo Seung-chan, a spokesperson for the South Korean Ministry of National Defense, said that ongoing joint military exercises are “defensive in nature” and that North Korea should “show a flexible attitude” by responding to South Korean diplomatic efforts to “establish a lasting and stable peace.”
