North Korea sends mixed signals over marking new nuclear missile holiday

Conflicting calendars create uncertainty about “Rocket Industry Day” on Nov. 29

North Korea may have designated a new holiday to celebrate the anniversary of the country's largest-ever nuclear missile test, changes to some of this year's official calendars from the DPRK suggest. But other versions do not mark the country's "Rocket Industry Day," creating uncertainty around possible celebrations planned for Nov. 29.

While images of a 2021 calendar printed and displayed inside North Korea, and obtained by NK News, do not show Nov. 29 designated as “Rocket Industry Day," Seoul-based Daily NK confirmed on Monday that images of another current calendar previously published by the website did.
