North Korea touts new electric trolleybuses ahead of massive beach resort debut

New trolleybus depot in Wonsan is part of the city's revival of this more efficient mode of public transport

For decades, North Korea’s trolleybuses have been the “backbone” of DPRK city transit, ferrying people through busy streets in Pyongyang and other parts of the country.

Now, electric trolleybuses are being revived in North Korea’s east coast city of Wonsan, state television reported on Saturday. Locals may very well catch a ride on one of these to work at or visit a giant new beach resort that could open next year.
