North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's sister, Kim Yo Jong, threatened South Korea's foreign minister and said that she may have to "pay dearly" for recent comments about the country and COVID-19, according to a new statement released in state media Wednesday morning.

Kim Yo Jong is apparently responding to a Dec. 5 speech where South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha expressed doubt that North Korea is really free of COVID-19. North Korea has repeatedly claimed to have zero coronavirus infections, and Kim Jong Un also made that claim during his Oct. 10 military parade speech.
