South Korean assembly speaker says he’s ready to meet North Korean counterpart

Park Byeong-seug urges Pyongyang to make "bold decision" and agree to inter-Korean parliamentary talks soon

The speaker of South Korea's National Assembly on Friday said he would be willing to meet with the head of the North's rubber-stamp Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), urging Pyongyang to make a "bold decision" and hold inter-Korean parliamentary talks soon.

Speaking in a keynote address at an event marking the South's Constitution Day, Park Byeong-seug said such a meeting could "pave the way" for building greater trust between the DPRK and the international community.
