Amazon will pay more than $130,000 in fines for violating U.S. sanctions by selling goods to individuals located in North Korea or working for its overseas missions, the Department of the Treasury said Wednesday. The fine also covers sales linked to other blacklisted countries.
An enforcement release detailing the penalty stated that the online retailer “accepted and processed orders on its websites for persons located in or employed by the foreign missions of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria.”
