U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo suggested in an interview on Fox News late Thursday that Washington expects progress in ongoing nuclear negotiations with North Korea to rest upon President Trump and Kim Jong Un holding a second summit.
In response to host Sean Hannity’s question of whether the two sides “might close that deal” first initiated in the two leaders’ first summit in Singapore last June, Pompeo said: “I think we have set the conditions where we can make real progress when Chairman Kim and President Trump meet.”
