Seoul seeking partners for project investigating mining pollution in North Korea

Government-backed plans aim to assess key mining areas in DPRK and impact on land

A South Korean government-run agency plans to push forward with an inter-Korean cooperation project to investigate pollution in North Korean mining areas and ways to re-purpose its by-products.

The South-North Korea Exchanges and Cooperation Support Association is seeking a subcontractor for the research, which will examine ways to mitigate environmental contamination.
