The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) on Wednesday announced that it has reduced the amount it is seeking in support funds for North Korea's flood-hit regions by around 32 percent, citing a lack of funding.
The organization's revised Emergency Appeal is now seeking CHF5,037,707 (USD$5,038,714) in support for the DPRK Red Cross Society (RCS) to provide assistance to 110,000 people affected by last year's floods, which hit North Hamgyong Province in the aftermath of Typhoon Lionrock in late August and early September.
