3000 North Korean defectors will leave South Korea if Moon elected: activists

Defector community split on Democratic Party candidate, however

Around 3000 North Korean defectors will leave South Korea if Moon Jae-in is elected President next week, a defector group claimed on Wednesday at a press conference at the National Assembly.

The group, which calls itself the “Defectors’ Collective Asylum Promotion Committee” was composed largely of supporters of Hong Joon-pyo of the conservative Liberty Korea Party.
