In Pyongyang, a once seven-star hotel project site remains derelict

If completed, Yonggwang Hotel was to include massive convention hall facilities: source

Photos taken around late 2016 show that the building site of a project once believed to be the seven-star luxury Yonggwang Hotel remains abandoned after a prolonged halt in construction work.

Meaning “Glory” in Korean, the Yonggwang Hotel project began between May 28 and September 23 of 2011, Google Earth imagery showed, but was halted three years later after “foreign investors lost confidence” in the project, a source told NK News in 2014.
