Air Koryo no longer permitted to operate Pyongyang-Kuwait route

Kuwait cites UN resolution as reason for barring flights

Air Koryo, North Korea’s only commercial airline, is no longer allowed to operate flights from Pyongyang to Kuwait, Kuwait International Airport (KWI) authorities confirmed to NK News on Tuesday.

The routes, JS161 and return flight JS162, began operating in 2011 and were conducted by Air Koryo’s Tu-204-300 and TU-204-100v, P-632 and P-633, Russian-made jets - both with an approximate range of 9,300km.
