First U.S. tourist visits North Korean city of Sinuiju: Koryo Tours

Development could lead to Americans being able to access Pyongyang by train

The first ever U.S. tourist visited the North Korean border city of Sinuiju in August, becoming one of the first Americans tourists to be authorized to access the country by land, the Beijing-based Koryo Tours said last week.

Until the trip, Americans had not formally been allowed to visit the DPRK across the land border with China, making it difficult for them to visit the northwest of the country.
