NIS worked to obstruct N.Korean first lady’s popularity: Lawyer

Lawyer representing former spy chief says POG was typical psychological warfare against N.Korea

Seoul’s former intelligence chief directed a psychological operation group (POG) to prevent Kim Jong Un's wife from gaining in popularity among South Korea's online communities, his attorney said on Monday.

Former chief of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) Won Se-hoon is on trial over interference in the South Korean presidential election in 2012, particularly concerning the spread of negative information about opposition party nominee Moon Jae-in.
