State Department update ‘strongly urges’ against travel to N.Korea

Newly posted update includes 'crimes' U.S. citizens may potentially be detained over while in DPRK

The U.S. Department of State on Monday updated its travel warning for North Korea, advising its citizens of the “unduly harsh” sentences imposed by the DPRK government.

The previous update, in place since November 20 of last year, has undergone some slight changes, including the listing of specific crimes U.S. citizens could be detained for while in the country.
