South Korea uses standoff to promote extended military service

ROK military, in advertising soldiers willing to delay discharge, echoes messages in North Korean state media

Amid the ongoing confrontation between South and North Korea over the mine explosion and propaganda broadcasts, media from both Koreas are reporting on young soldiers volunteering to extend their military service.

For now several days, South Korean reserve forces have been posting pictures of themselves in uniform on Facebook, saying, "We are waiting for the order, please call me."
