Paper: Japanese abductee died of overdose in 1994

Paper, citing Japanese report, says Yokota was given excessive amount of medication at psychiatric hospital

A Japanese woman kidnapped in 1977 by North Korean agents died in 1994 from a drug overdose, a South Korean newspaper said.

Megumi Yokota, abducted at age 13, overdosed on sedatives and sleeping pills at a psychiatric ward, the Dong-a Ilbo reported.
