Xi and Park affirm opposition to North Korean nuclear tests

Xi's visit widely seen as "snub" to Pyongyang

South Korean President Park Geun-hye and Chinese President Xi Jinping strongly oppose North Korea's nuclear weapons development plan and weapons testing and will work jointly to resume Six Party talks, the leaders said at a press conference at the Blue House in Seoul on Thursday.

In a joint statement, President Park said that "Our two leaders share the view that we must realise North Korea's denuclearization without fail and resolutely oppose another nuclear test," and argued that Xi's visit will "serve as a clear message for denuclearization of North Korea".
