North Korea's state media has announced Friday that an American citizen has been detained in North Korea on April 29 for "acting in violation of the DPRK law, contrary to the purpose of tourism during his stay."
The Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that American citizen Jeffrey Edward Fowle was arrested and is currently being investigated by "a relevant organ of the DPRK." It is believed that Fowle was detained due to activities of a religious nature.
