Tensions Continue To Mount Around Nuclear Test

New intelligence reveals increased activity at North Korea's nuclear testing area

South Korean military and intelligence sources said that increased activity at a North Korean nuclear site is a further indication that a third nuclear test is imminent.  While officials stressed that they had no intelligence to suggest exactly when a test might occur, the movement by workers and vehicles detected at the site indicated it would likely be soon.

KCNA today poured more fuel on the fire through the publication of a number of bombastic editorials again placing the blame on the United States for the current situation. In one the North stated that the U.S. has “constantly sought to mount a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK” and warned that “the more the U.S. seeks hostility towards the DPRK, the stronger the latter's nuclear deterrent for self-defense will become.”
