The top diplomats of North Korea and Singapore met in Pyongyang on Tuesday and called for the development of “friendly and cooperative relations” between the two countries, according to DPRK state media.

Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan met with his DPRK counterpart Choe Son Hui and discussed strengthening bilateral ties through closer ministerial cooperation in regional and international issues, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Wednesday.

Choe reportedly said Pyongyang seeks to further develop its long-standing relations with Singapore, while Balakrishnan wished the North Korean people success in their efforts toward national prosperity.
