Russia exported beer and tobacco to North Korea for the first time in 2025, new data shows, the latest sign of growing commercial exchanges between the allies.

Shipments of beer amounted to $20,000 while tobacco products reached $700,000, according to the Agroexport Center, an export-promoting arm of the Russian Agriculture Ministry.

The new deliveries follow Russia’s first-ever export of rapeseed oil to North Korea in the first five months of 2025, which Agroexport reported in June. The more than 310-ton delivery was valued at $340,000.

Russia also supplied4,500 tons of “edible pork offal” worth over $3.6 million last year,
