North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw a test of an “upgraded” version of the country’s 600mm multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) on Tuesday in order to present a “grave threat” to enemies, according to state media. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted Kim on Wednesday saying that unspecified enemies, likely referring to the U.S. and South Korea, will “clearly” be convinced of new technological advancements demonstrated during the test.
