North Korea will conduct an “immediate” and “preemptive diplomatic response” to South Korea’s continued military cooperation with the U.S., the leader’s sister and spokesperson Kim Yo Jong said in a statement Wednesday, without detailing specific actions.

Kim repeated the DPRK’s position on opposing joint U.S.-ROK military drills, which kicked off this week, while harshly criticizing South Korean President Lee Jae-myung.

It was her fourth statement released via the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) in the last month claiming that North Korea is not interested in relations with South Korea, though all appear aimed at convincing Seoul to abandon its partnership
