US-ROK forces hold air assault training as North Korea continues to slam drills

Joint exercise for Freedom Shield aims to enhance combined operations, as ROK navy trains to intercept WMD shipments

U.S. and South Korean forces held joint air assault training on Tuesday as part of spring exercises on countering North Korean threats, while the ROK navy practiced intercepting weapons of mass destruction.

The ROK army conducted a joint air assault training with the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division and the ROK-U.S. Combined Division on Tuesday as part of the annual Freedom Shield exercises aimed at enhancing combined readiness for North Korean threats.
