North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected the country’s first nuclear-powered missile submarine in recent days, according to state media on Saturday, with the report including the first photos of the vessel.

Kim also inspected large new warships under construction at two locations, one on each coast, and declared the vessels will be deployed soon and won’t be “restricted to specific waters.”

He warned that North Korea “will never tolerate the maritime and underwater military activities of the hostile forces, which seriously threaten the country’s sovereignty and interests through the constant deployment of strategic assets,” the Rodong Sinmun reported.
