The U.S. and South Korea conducted joint air drills over the Korean Peninsula in response to the escalating nuclear and missile threats from North Korea on Thursday, marking the first time a U.S. A B-1B strategic bomber has been deployed to the region since President Donald Trump took office.
The exercises, which represented this year’s first joint air training between the two countries involving a U.S. strategic bomber, integrated the ROK’s F-35A stealth fighters and F-15K fighters and the U.S. air force’s F-16 jets, according to a press release from South Korea’s defense ministry.
