What to make of Kim Jong Un’s reported messages to troops fighting Ukraine

Release of handwritten notes from fallen soldiers is part of Kyiv’s efforts to highlight DPRK involvement in war

Handwritten notes reportedly conveying messages of support from Kim Jong Un to North Korean soldiers fighting against Ukraine could play a role in drawing international attention to Pyongyang’s military involvement, though experts caution that it’s difficult to verify the notes’ authenticity from their contents alone.

The Washington Post reported on Sunday that Ukrainian forces recovered two handwritten notes from the bodies of dead North Korean soldiers, which supposedly relayed messages from the North Korean leader to troops on the front lines.
