South Korean authorities have removed the names of North Korean cities from several highway signs on the so-called Freedom Road leading to the demilitarized zone, NK News has confirmed, likely reflecting the poor state of inter-Korean ties.

Pyongyang and Kaesong were no longer listed on the green highway signs on National Route 77, northwest of Seoul, on Dec. 25, replaced by the name of Panmunjom in the Joint Security Area.
