South Korea’s parliament voted to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol on Saturday after he briefly declared martial law last week to counter what he called “anti-state” and “pro-North” forces.
The decision throws into question the longevity of the mostly hawkish inter-Korean policies adopted by the Yoon administration since its inception and may open the door to different tactics, particularly if Donald Trump seeks another meeting with Kim Jong Un after returning to the White House next month.
