North Korea builds anti-tank trenches over demolished inter-Korean roads: Seoul

Defensive structures appear aimed at showing DPRK resolve to cut ties, though ROK says they can be easily filled in

North Korea has built anti-tank trenches at two locations where it blew up inter-Korean roads last month, according to Seoul, in an apparent attempt to further demonstrate its resolve to cut off all links to the South.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said DPRK built the structures in less than a month, starting when it demolished inter-Korean road and rail links on the east and west coast (Donghae and Gyeongui lines) on Oct. 15.
