North Korea preparing to send 12K troops to fight against Ukraine, Zelensky says

Kyiv predicts first units could arrive in Russia’s Kursk as early as Wednesday, as president seeks global support

North Korea is preparing some 12,000 soldiers to fight for Russia on the front lines against Ukraine, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, with some units reportedly expected to arrive as early as Wednesday.

The Ukrainian military has “information about the preparation of two units of North Korean military personnel — potentially two brigades of around 6,000 soldiers each,” Zelensky said in a video message released Tuesday.
