The U.S. has indicted a Nashville native for allegedly helping North Korean IT workers obtain remote employment with foreign companies by posing as American citizens.
In a press release announcing the charges on Thursday, the Department of Justice accused Matthew Isaac Knoot, 38, of participating in the yearslong scheme to help the workers generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of Pyongyang’s nuclear ambitions.
